UPDATE: Graduation 2024
Posted on 05/17/2024

Greetings to our LCHS Seniors & Families:

The big day has arrived! We are excited to come together this evening as ONE Family to celebrate the Class of 2024 during LCHS Graduation. Today is a milestone we will all remember for years to come.

As we have stated in our messages over the past several days, our team has been keeping a constant eye on weather forecasts for Friday evening. Throughout this past week – as well as this morning – we have consulted with local television weather forecasters and reviewed a large amount of the latest forecast models. Specifically, we have been keeping a close watch on the chances for rain and – most crucially – thunderstorms during the time of our Graduation ceremony.

After communicating with multiple forecasters this morning and reviewing the latest weather models, we have been advised that there is a decent chance that thunderstorms and rain could significantly impact our ceremony should it be held outside. Forecasters have been clear that storms this evening are not a certainty, but they are a good possibility.

Based on the totality of this information, we have decided that LCHS Graduation 2024 will be held inside the LCHS Gymnasium at 6:30 p.m. This will allow us to avoid the consequences of having rain or a pop-up thunderstorm significantly disrupt or cancel our ceremony. We strongly believe that hosting the ceremony indoors will provide the best atmosphere for a safe, uninterrupted, and memorable experience for all.

Accordingly, please take note of the following points of emphasis:

  • All 8 tickets provided to LCHS seniors for the ceremony are still valid. The four tickets marked with an LC Lion stamp on the back will provide access to the LCHS Gymnasium. The remaining four unmarked tickets will provide access to one of three on-campus viewing sites: The LCHS Auditorium, the LCHS Auxiliary Gym, and the LCHS Cafeteria.

  • LCHS staff on site will direct you where to enter the building once you arrive. We have also included a map with this message that provides more details for parking and entry.

  • We strongly encourage your graduation party to arrive together as a group. To ensure we accommodate all guests, we will be filling seats by section and directing guests upon arrival.

  • Parking lots open at 4 p.m. Please display your parking pass prior to arriving on campus and please plan to arrive early. Doors will open at 4:45 p.m. and close at 6:20 p.m. for the processional.

  • Weapons detectors will be in use and we will be following our Clear Bag Policy. You can find specific details about this policy on our LCHS website (louisalions.com) under the “Parents” tab. This policy was also included in the envelope students received this morning.

  • Out of respect for all guests in attendance, balloons and signs are not allowed in the LCHS Gymnasium or other viewing sites.

  • LCHS Graduation 2024 will be live-streamed on the LCHS website.

Finally, I want you to know that our team has worked tirelessly to ensure this evening’s ceremony will be exceptional. We take an immense amount of pride each year in making sure that LCHS Graduation operates in a successful, enjoyable, and timely manner, and we are grateful to you for your support as we put this plan into action.

Tonight, let’s come together one more time as ONE Family and make a memory that will last a lifetime!
